Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Sous / CDP Chef (Cook) to join the kitchen team. You will support overall kitchen management, help drive menu execution and ensure consistently high standards across preparation, cooking and plating. This role offers a strong opportunity for an experienced chef seeking stability, professional growth and potential sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in leading the kitchen team, ensuring smooth service and efficient workflows.
• Support menu planning and execution of seasonal, locally driven menus.
• Maintain food quality, portion control and presentation standards.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and regulatory compliance at all times.
• Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a supportive and high-performing team.
• Manage stock levels and ordering to ensure cost-effective, efficient operations.
Skills & Experience
• Strong background as a Chef in quality restaurants or similar venues.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to supervise kitchen operations.
• Excellent culinary skills, including plating, flavour balance and timing.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Positive, professional attitude with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining standards.
Salary & Benefits
• Full-time role with a salary of $60,000–$75,000 + super, depending on experience.

We are recruiting a Sous / CDP Chef (Cook) for an iconic destination restaurant in Galston, NSW, known for refined, garden-style dining and high-quality, seasonal dishes. This is a full-time role with employer sponsorship available for suitable onshore candidates.
What you’ll be doing:
Manage and oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, service and quality control.
Work closely with the leadership team on menu planning and seasonal changes that showcase local, seasonal produce.
Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Mentor and support junior kitchen staff, contributing to a positive, professional team culture.
Assist with stock control and ordering to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
Coordinate effectively with front-of-house to deliver a seamless dining experience.
What you’ll bring:
Significant experience as a Chef in a high-quality restaurant or similar hospitality venue.
Proven ability to lead and support a kitchen team, with strong communication and people skills.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation, presentation and kitchen operations.
Passion for creating seasonal, produce-driven menus and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Additional requirements:
Onshore applicants only – you must already be in Australia.
Must live locally in the area or have a car and be able to commute to Galston.
Valid Australian work rights, with eligibility for employer sponsorship (482 visa) where appropriate.
